The Tamil community in metro Philadelphia area started the TNF Chapter with a bang on August 6th, 2006. The function attended by 400 Tamils was appropriately named as EEGAI PERUVIZHA. Besides its flagship function, the annual EEGAI PERUVIZHA, the chapter in association with G.S. Lane Foundation (a Phildelphia-based American Foundation which is focused on educational activities) organizes a Trek-A-Thon in October. The chapters ongoing projects include: 

1. Abandoned Mentally Impaired Children project in Sirkali 

2. Orphan girls project, Gurukulam, Vedaranyam 

3. Benches for Bindus - focused on education in rural areas of Tamil Nadu.
