10 K COMPUTER AND FUNCTIONAL LITERACY PROJECT
Of 60 million, nearly 26.55 % are illiterates in Tamilnadu. Of them 14.8 million women are illiterates. Thanks to one lakh SHGs and 1.25 lakhs NGOs all over Tamilnadu and thanks to the excellent Functional Literacy software developed by TCS, now we should be able to tackle this problem of illiteracy. Apart from making everyone literate using TCS software, (Just 40 hrs of training is adequate to make an illiterate a functional literate and give him / her skill to read a Tamil News Paper) the computers that TNF is planning to provide could be used to give Computer Training to the School Children.
